Nelson
street race and Atkins to ride at the Guidon d'or.
Report T Sutherland.
Nelson
A number of motarders will be setting their
sites on the Nelson streets tomorrow. The annual Ports of
Nelson meeting sees motarders able to enter a number of classes
and do well. Honda's Craig Flood has had wins in F2, F3 and
the motard classes in the past few years so if you're in
town get along to see the motard boys stylin it up.
Guidon d'or
Expat Darryl Atkins has been invited to ride
the Guidon d'or (Golden Handle bars) at Bercy in Paris France.
The event which has run for in excess of 13 years has had
big name winners like, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, Jean Michal
Bayle, Stephane Chambon, and more recently Fredric Bolley,
over the years.
Atkins did the event last year and finished
7th in his heat (but missed the cut off for a tranfer to
the final). After a year's experience in Supermoto (he finished
6th in the AMA Unlimited class in 2004) he is keen to well.
The event is on Sunday 15 January.
Check out all
the top racers who have been doing a bit of Supermoto.
