Gillard
keen for more.
Motocrosser Blake Gillard has only tried Supermoto
the once. That was in the recent 2 hour meeting at Taupo
where he teamed up with (fellow) KTM hotshot (Stephen Briggs)
on a stock KTM525 and managed a fine third place overall.
That KTM525 was the same bike that we here
at SMNZ raced at Cemetery Circuit this summer. The bikes
only change from absolute stock was a SX exhaust, moto front
brake and a set of 17 inch wheels.
Gillard said " I felt we were down a bit on
power compared to a few of the bikes there but am more than
happy with how I went." The Auckland motocrosser was rumoured
to be within 1 second a lap of Husaberg mounted Paul Brown
who won the event.
"I'm keen to do the three round national
championship that starts at the end of the month" Gillard
went on to say. " I think KTM might be gettting the 525 set
up on some proper Supermoto suspension which would be great"

Blake Gillard talking to SMNZ at the Ardmore MX track recently.
