SUPERMOTO
KTM’s Supermoto Racing Team heads for the World
Champion titles
(20.04.2005)
----------------------------------------
After a very successful 2004 season the KTM supermoto factory
racing
team again goes for victory in the world championship. 2005
brings some
changes for the team: Ivan Lazzarini and Fabrice Lecoanet
left the team,
so world champ Thierry van den Bosch and european champ Bernd
Hiemer
will race in the S1 (unlimited) class. Boris Chambon changed
to the S2
class using the new 450 cc engine - one of thedevelopments
of the KTM
engineers. The goals for the KTM supermoto factory racing
team are set:
Winning the championship titles in both classes!
TEAM MANAGER KTM SUPERMOTO RACING TEAM - KLAUS KINIGADNER
How are the chances for the KTM riders in the S1
class?
Thierry van den Bosch is even more motivated to defend his
title than
last year when he had to fight health problems. Anything
else than this
year's world champ title would be not satisfying for Thierry.
Our second
rider Bernd Hiemer is for sure one of the big talents of
supermoto.
Bernd should finish among the top three.
How could it work to get the title in the S2 class
this year?
Boris Chambon is strong enough to go for the title in the
S2 class
although competition is tougher than ever. I am confident
of Boris to
achieve his goal.
Which technical innovations can we expect
for this season?
First we dismissed the LC4 from the S1 class - well deserved!
Now we use
only racing models with tuned chassis in both classes. The
bikes will be
powered by a twin-cam engine, which delivers more power than
before.
Check out all
the top racers who have been doing a bit of Supermoto.
