Supermoto Race 1

Tropical as ever for this time of the year (joke) the series managed to draw a respectable score of competitors for this the third round.

For the first race the front row of the S2 grid saw young Carl Richmond (Sherco 450) primed to maximize his launch from pole position after a blistering practice session. Practice had been drizzley and cold. Richmond had looked very quick and by virtue of his performance at the previous round enjoyed the veiw from the front row with Ian Atkins and Steven Croad alongside. Close behind was motocross icon Mitch Rowe.

Two of Supermoto's top guns; Stephen Briggs and Toby Summers joined Rowe further back on the grid. The pair would have to work for their glory today with their non appearance in the previous round relegating them back, on the differcult to pass circuit.

With ten riders lined up it was all go for race one. Ian Atkins grabbed the lead early on and eased out a small lead. Richmond had lost traction off of the start line and again a couple of turns later, with dire consequences. Steven Croad held station in third with Stephen Briggs and Toby Summers pressing. A rampant Richard Howe, in second, moving in on Atkins. Briggs slipped by Croad and along with Howe capitalized on an Atkins error on the last lap. The wet weather shod machines of Howe and Briggs taking first and second repectively from Atkins in third, Steven Croad in fourth and Toby Summers in fifth (all on dry tyres) and Brendon Coad also on wets in sixth. Mitch Rowe showing flashes of brillance mixed with breathtaking mistakes, finishing seventh.

Grid positions from here on, were to be determined from the previous race.

Supermoto Race 2

Richard Howe made the most of his pole position start and bolted into the lead. Croad struggling to hold the toe, held second with Briggs, and Summers nipping at his heals. Late in the race Summers and Briggs managed to overwhelm Croad with an improving Rowe closing on the Husqvarna man. Richmond making amends and taking sixth from Ian Atkns. Howe again triumphant.

Supermoto Race 3

Howe again leaping from the pole into the lead. This time with close company in the form of Summers, Rowe and Briggs. Summers managed to scrap past Howe, who stalled soon after, finally grasping a ninth place finish.

Rowe's pace increasing after each sucessive race, this outing managing a third place behind Briggs and in front of Richmond.

Supermoto Race 4

Briggs was having techincal issues so withdrew from the last race. Summers was left to race away for the win. Rowe grabbing his best finish of the weekend in second followed by Richmond. The Bike Torque duo of Atkins and Josiah duelled all the way to the flag with the employee gaining the upperhand at the flag.

Riders had a track session running the circuit anti clockwise and most agreed that this was worth trying for up coming rounds.
