The Battle of the Streets committee has announced that the new exciting 'Supermotard' class will be made a core class for this upcoming seasons championship. The motards are strangely excluded from cross entering, (those roadracers must find it intimadating racing bikes with half the horsepower) ie running in other classes.

Last year saw Energy Honda's Craig Flood claim 2nd overall in the F3 class and a number of motards attended not only the Wanganui meeting, the only one at that stage running a 'Motard' class, but the other 2 street meeting as well.

Riders may go in the 'Robert Holden Memorial' race if they are one of the fastest 15 qualifiers, which will be shown from the transponder sheets.

This yet another indication of the popularity of Supermotard in NZ.
