wwww.Supermotard NZ went down and checked out
the Waikaraka Park venue recently and waooohh, we think we
might just have an Auckland Supermoto venue?
There is a huge tarmac area and a promoter talking
about using that and the speedway bowl area to hold a pukka
Supermoto perhaps at a later date.
There is a Speedway (bike) meeting at Waikaraka
Park (Onehunga) this Sunday (18/01/04). It's a low profile
affair and if you bring your licence (MNZ) , bike and gear
along you can have a bit of practice on the big oval and take
in maybe 4, 10 lap races with other motarders later in the
day.
So slip on a cut slick (not road race wet) and
get yourself along for a bit of a blast on (3:30pm if you're
just in for the races) Sunday. Bring your MNZ licence and
$10 entry!
The speedway guys assure us that a road tyre
will do the job but if you have a standard rear wheel with
a trial type tyre bring that along too. The man at the track
to talk to is John McCullum.
