NZ's
new Supermoto Series. Round 1
Supermoto has been crying out for it's own series
and on Sunday the 2nd of May that's what it got when Taupo's
Nigel Bevin and his helpful crew got round 1 off the ground.
Bike Mart Supermoto winner Stephen Briggs, did
it again, taking home the points lead for the day. He was
followed home (and on occassion passed) by Dannivirke's Brendon
Stephenson.
Stephenson commented on how fantastic the all
new off road section was. "It was sensational, the berms
were fast even on my heavy thing and the jumps were great
even for the inexperienced" Stephenson went on to say
"The turn out was a little disappointing (about 30 odd)
but I guess some people were put off by the weather on Saturday.
It didn't rain on race day and it really is an all weather
circuit, so once people get wind of how good it is I'm sure
we'll see the numbers grow."

Affordable?
The series has an unbelievable deal going on
leathers and tyres for those looking at contesting a minimum
of 2 rounds.
Series boss Nigel Bevin also tells us that the
event is run under the New Zealand dirt bike federation so
there is no need for a MNZ competition licence.
The next round is on Saturday
12th of June.
