Aussie
motard scene report
Well its all happening for some but not for
others or so it seems for the SRCA members.
Mark Battersby and Mark Avard have taken it
upon themselves to move things along in QLD & NSW and
they have been running really cool events.
In Victoria it has come to a halt for the time
being, especially after the January event at Sth Morang was
cancelled. The final round was due to be rescheduled but unfortunately
venues have not been forthcoming due to the cost of hiring
the venue or in the case of Broadford, there is scheduled
resurfacing going on and the venue cannot be booked for Supermotard
until NOVEMBER!
We are also unable to book Saturdays as the
dirt cannot be cleaned in time for Sundays events.
SRCA was formed so as to get more people involved
in the running of events but it seems as usual a couple can
only do the work and with major commitments, SRCA doesnt
rate a high priority.
As it stands, the club has no President, an
inactive executive and no future plans to hold an executive
meeting. Not individuals fault, just that its all too
hard when there are other things to do.
If you want to change that, I suggest you contact
Carl Russell (Vic) or Michael Bennett (NSW) and make your
suggestion. Please dont make a comment with any intent
to follow up your ideas because we are full on ideas and light
on effort.
As mentioned in previously, none of the cheques
have been cashed from January, so they will be returned and
those who have sent money orders will receive refunds.
Other venues are being explored and I expect
we will be back in the Latrobe area for another go at a Car
park race or street race around August.
Meanwhile, Tuesday nights at Sth Morang are
still going ahead on the second Tuesday night of every month,
another Go Kart track is being examined in country Victoria.
Road racing may include SM class in their B
& C Grade series at Broadford.
NSW has a great event coming up in a stadium
in Suburbia!
Practice days are being conducted at Oran Park
on a regular basis through Mark Avard.
QLD through the Sporting Club is a having its
own Supermotard Extreme series.
