KTM
come to the party.
Like KTM importers Heytrack, Dannivirke's Brendon
Stephenson has been a keen motarder since the very begining.
Back in
March
2002
Stephenson, told us how he liked the look of this
Supermoto thing and he was keen to have a go, even though
he'd never raced on tarmac. Now a little over 2 years
later and with a little help from the KTM distrutors, he's
out
there pushing the
very best in the country on the black
stuff, on his converted dirt bike!! (See
Pacific MCC Series report)
KTM recently helped Stephenson out with a factory
'works' 613cc engine for his bike. Stephenson reports the
engine, the 19th of only 50 made, is
super smooth and makes good power all the way to redline.
He admits to being excited not just by it's greater power
but it's friendlier delivery and reliablity.

Stephenson had heavily modified his 525 engine
and although he'd managed to get good power, this new engine
is a much better package.
So roll on the 2nd round
of the Husaberg Motosports Supermoto Series at Taupo. Fellow
KTM pilot Stephen Briggs might just have some serious work
on his hands. The event is on Saturday the 12th of June.
