Husaberg motosports round 2.

In brillant sunshine approximately 45 riders competed at the second Husaberg Motosport supermoto track at Taupo's Centennial park raceway.

Sam Smith was one of a number of riders on 125 two strokes and 250 four strokes.

The Saturday (June 12) event saw an influx of 17 inch wheel kitted bikes compete in the main S1 races with in excess of 15 bikes riding in the Sportsman all (capcity, standard wheels and brakes, machines) in class. The quad numbers were a little down.

The KTM duo of Briggs and Stephenson were again the dominate force. Briggs, who was full of the flu, managed to again secure the overall win for the day.

Brent Symes finished 4th overall in the 'Open' class but couldn't keep it together in the stock class races. Motocrossers Kyle Smith and Carl Richmond showed good speed in their respective stock classes.

Doug Barnett looked to be the fastest man in the quad class.

Affordable?

The series has an unbelievable deal going on leathers and tyres for those looking at contesting a minimum of 2 rounds.

Series boss Nigel Bevin also tells us that the event is run under the New Zealand dirt bike federation so there is no need for a MNZ competition licence.

The next round is on Sunday 18th of July.
